Grand Electric

Tucked away on the vibrant stretch of Queen Street West in Toronto, Grand Electric brings the bold, electric flavors of Mexican street food straight to 1330 Queen St W. This spot doesn’t just serve tacos-it delivers an atmosphere that hums with energy, late-night bites, and killer cocktails. Whether you're strolling by on a sunny afternoon or craving something spicy after hours, this place knows how to keep the vibe alive.

From the moment you step inside, the ambiance hits different-urban, loud, and lively, in the best way possible. The menu is a fiesta of flavor, with everything from fiery tacos and zingy ceviche to crowd-pleasing vegetarian options that don’t hold back on spice or soul. Grand Electric takes its drinks seriously, too. The cocktail list? Packed with attitude. Beer and wine? Absolutely. And for those looking to kick back with something smooth, their spirits game is strong.

Coffee lovers aren’t left out either. Whether you're in for a quick caffeine jolt or pairing it with your meal, the brew here is bold and satisfying. And if you’re the kind who likes to munch late into the night, you’re in luck-Grand Electric knows how to keep the kitchen buzzing past regular hours.

In terms of service, they’ve got it all covered. You can sit down and dine in, grab something quick with takeaway, or opt for delivery if you’re staying cozy at home. It’s this kind of flexibility, paired with food that packs a punch, that keeps locals coming back and newcomers instantly hooked.

There’s something unapologetically real about Grand Electric. It’s loud, it’s flavorful, it’s got attitude-and it’s exactly what you want when you’re chasing a meal that doesn’t play it safe.

The ceviche was so good and such a large and generous portion! All of the tacos were also really good... I've mostly enjoyed the cauliflower and mushroom as well as the shrimp. I think both the cauliflower and mushroom could use a bit more spice so don't forget to add some hot sauce! The shrimp was really really good! And my partner really enjoyed the chicken and pork tacos. Staff were really nice and the shop is set up well for covid-19. Only one customer allowed in at a time for pick up, face masks must be worn and are worn by the staff and there is a plastic divider for pickup!

Easily the best fish and shrimp tacos I’ve had in Toronto. Such a fan of this place. Sat at the bar and felt v comfortable - definitely perfect spot for casual but delicious lunch for one! Staff were crazy friendly and sociable. Place was well styled but not pretentious and I’d love to come back in the evening with company for some cocktails and MORE FISH TACOS!

I was introduced to this place recently and really enjoyed their food. I tried the spicy squid, beef cheek quesadillas and tacos carnitas. They were all delicious! The spicy squid was actually spicy so probably order it without the jalapeno if you like to try it not spicy. Beef cheek quesadilla was also very flavourful- juicy, cheesy and filling. The tacos were also very good. I like how they're garnished with probably house made pickles. Writing this review, looking at the photos is even making me drool! The service was pretty attentive and friendly so I can definitely see myself going back sometime soon. I want to try the Taco specials on Tuesdays. The place itself is not big and I heard you often get to wait in the evenings so probably try planning ahead if you like to go. Highly recommended.

Grand Electric is a great spot for Mexican food. The vibe inside is good- often they play old-school hip-hop! The tacos are good, and the tuna ceviche is excellent. The drinks are also great and it's a fun place to go with friends!

We were pressed for time, and looking for anywhere to eat. We were lucky enough to find this place! Cool little patio area out back, and great food! Perfectly spicy tacos! Love the Chicken! Had the Beef cheek and Cauliflower tacos as well! So good!

Came here a day after they announced they would be closing the restaurant after all these years. There was a long wait to get into the patio as everyone else wanted to come say their goodbyes as well. We already had dinner elsewhere but wanted to finish off the night here. We ordered the Baja fish tacos, mission wings, and key lime pie. Have been coming here sporadically over the years, and also visited their bbq restaurant down the street, and the outpost in Muskoka. A true institution, part of a select few places that led Toronto's culinary awakening to make it the foodie heaven that it is today. Hope to see your future projects, and also grateful for the footprints that you left on the local restaurant landscape.

It is a very small restaurant. They have a nice bar area and a few tables for 2-4 people. They serve a variety of tacos, quesadillas and several kinds of starters. If you look on their blackboard, they have drink specials. Paid parking on the street. Great atmosphere, great food and service! Thank you!

Great taco joint in Toronto! Very small space so wait can be lengthy but worth it. Drinks are on point and the choice of hot sauces on the table is decent. Gotta love the decor to with a huge shark hanging from ceiling as you walk in. Cool exposed inner wall as a bar is a nice touch too.
